Family-office coordination,
without building a family office.
The wealthiest families have long solved fragmentation by hiring a staff of their own — a single-family office, with its own investment chief, tax counsel, and administrators. A virtual family office solves it differently: one accountable firm, built around your situation rather than a model — the specialists you already trust kept in place, and where your team has gaps, we introduce the right professionals and help you evaluate them.
A virtual family office is a wealth-management model in which one firm manages a family’s investments and coordinates the specialists around them — the CPA, the estate attorney, the insurance and lending professionals — so the family gets family-office coordination without building and staffing an office of its own.
A personal chief financial officer for your family.
A company’s CFO does not personally draft every contract or file every return. The CFO owns the whole financial picture, brings in the right specialists, speaks their language, and is accountable to one boss for the result.
That is the role we aim to fill. We manage the investment portfolio directly, and for everything around it we coordinate the work of your own advisors, presenting you one complete picture instead of five partial ones. Many firms now use language like this; the difference is in how the work is actually run, and by whom. Ours is run by principals with institutional careers behind them.
One team, seven responsibilities.
All Source acts in a fiduciary capacity and manages the investments directly. The six functions around them we coordinate with your own attorneys, accountants, insurance and lending specialists, and the other specialists your situation calls for — and where you have a gap, we introduce you.
Investment Management
The work we do on your behalf, directly. Asset allocation and portfolio construction, risk managed against a defined range, direct indexing with lot-level tax-loss harvesting, separately managed accounts, options overlays, liquidity and cash-flow planning, and access to institutional alternatives — private credit, secondaries, co-investments and real assets — for qualified investors. We build and run the portfolio, and we watch the risk.
Tax
Portfolio decisions and tax strategy made together with your CPA: which accounts hold which assets, when gains are taken, what selling a business or a large stock position will actually leave you after tax — and the specialized tools for concentrated stock where they fit. The portfolio and the tax return, planned as one.
Estate & Wealth Transfer
Alongside your estate attorney: rolling GRATs, spousal lifetime access trusts, sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts, family partnerships and valuation discounts, dynasty trusts, and updating trusts written for a different tax era. Moving wealth to the people you love, with as little lost along the way as the law allows.
Risk & Protection
Excess liability and umbrella coverage sized to the balance sheet you have now, life and long-term-care cover, entity structures for potentially higher-risk assets, and asset-protection trusts — arranged with your insurance specialists and attorney. Helping protect what you built — through coverage, ownership structures, and your own attorneys.
Liquidity & Lending
10b5-1 plans, exchange funds and prepaid variable forwards for concentrated stock, securities-based and pledged-asset lines, and asset-backed lending against the portfolio or the business. Getting money out — or borrowing against what you own — at the right time and the right cost.
Philanthropy
Donor-advised funds, charitable remainder and lead trusts, gifts of appreciated or illiquid assets, and the private-foundation question, coordinated with the tax and estate work. Giving that does the most good, for the causes and for the family.
Reporting & Review
A consolidated view of what you own, with outside accounts connected so the picture sits in one place rather than five, and the plan, the portfolio and the decisions in front of you reviewed together on a set rhythm. One picture, reviewed on a schedule.
Understand, assemble, coordinate.
Understand the whole picture
Discovery maps the entire balance sheet — what you own, what you owe, and what you want it all to do. Nothing is recommended until your situation has been played back to you in plain language.
Assemble the right people
Your CPA, your attorney, your insurance and lending professionals stay in place if you want them to — and where a situation calls for someone you do not have, whether that is M&A counsel, a valuation specialist, a trust officer or a business consultant, we introduce them. The bench is chosen for your situation, not inherited from ours.
Coordinate, and keep coordinating
We are the point person, not a referral hand-off. The investments, the plan and every professional and specialist involved are reviewed together on a set rhythm, so the picture stays current as your life changes.
A financial life at this level touches more specialties than any one firm can house: estate and trust counsel, tax counsel and your CPA, life, property, liability and long-term-care coverage, business valuation and M&A counsel when a company changes hands, trust officers, charitable and philanthropic counsel, business and succession consultants — and specialty coverage for what a balance sheet accumulates, from art and collections to aircraft, vessels, identity and cyber exposure.
You keep the professionals you already trust. Where you do not have one, we introduce you — and we help you evaluate whether they are right for you.
Every client is served this same way — most often arriving in one of five situations:
The virtual family office, answered plainly.
What does All Source do differently?
Two things. We manage the investments the way an institution would, and we take responsibility for the coordination: your CPA, your estate attorney, your insurance and lending professionals working from one picture rather than five. In our experience, that second job is the one most often left unowned. How we invest →
Does All Source replace my CPA or attorney?
No. We coordinate with your existing attorneys, accountants, and other specialists, and can introduce you to professionals where you have gaps.
How is a virtual family office paid for?
All Source charges investment advisory fees as disclosed in its Form ADV Part 2A; details are on the How We’re Compensated section. Specialists such as attorneys and CPAs bill their own work directly. How we’re compensated →
How does it start?
With a deliberate discovery process, not a product pitch: an exploratory call, a discovery meeting built around what matters most to you, findings presented back in plain language, and a mutual decision about moving forward. How we work →
